Dogs present with symptoms of lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, depression and weakness. The symptoms are similar to parvovirus but there is no vaccine for circovirus. It is treatable but owners need to get the dog to the veterinarian as soon as possible. The longer the virus is allowed to progress the harder treatment will be and there is a chance of death.
The virus spreads easily between dogs and can travel through a dog park or day care center. It is best to keep your dog away from any others that present symptoms.
